The performance at the rodeo has been cancelled the ring is not large enough to make it safe to ride with the whole team. We still encourage everyone to attend, it’s a great event for a good cause. There will be no drill team practice on September 5 the next practice will be September 12.
New Members: Welcome to Kayla Temple, Hannah Fenske, Alex Fenske, and Luke Woods.
We also received paperwork from Melissa Binion, Tavia Harris, Paula Harris, and Emma Harris that they have chose to register for 4-H as independents and have choose to leave the Horse-N-Around Club. We wish them all the best.
The following decisions were made last night and voted on by the membership:
1. The banquet: We will have a potluck, committee members are: Jessica Woods, Christine McCarthy, and Kim Sipes. We are trying to change the date because of WSC conflict but right now the date is September 18.
2. The membership voted to have “Grease” as the club and drill team theme for next year.
3. The membership voted to allow “Cloverbuds” to join the club. This will be open to siblings 6-9 years old, they will not be allowed to ride.
4. Elections: President Jordan Franklin, Vice-President Addie Fow, Treasurer: Lexas Perry, Secretary Chey McCarthy.
Red Orchard Park: attached is the schedule, and rules of the property. The Woods ride out there when they are open and plan to ride this Saturday or Sunday if anyone is interested. (This will not be a 4-H event.)

Web Update
Also, for the drill team we will not be preforming at the Reah’s on
September 6th, we are still invited to participate in the education
clinics being offered. The decision was mutual because Reah’s did
not think they could accommodate our trailers since they are not
sure how many care they will have. Also, we will be preforming that
night at the Promise Ridge Rodeo at 7:00 we will be preforming
first, it is a steep hill so if you don’t have four wheel drive you
might want to trailer with someone. If you can’t get up the hill
you can drop your trailer by the school bus and ride up. Remember
if you are there with the representing the drill team helmets,
helmets, helmets. If you are in another event after the drill team
then helmet use is at your parents discretion. However, before and
during we are representing 4H so you all know the routine.
Drill team practice starts at 7:00 PM sharp (saddled in the arena
ready to ride) at the Waddy arena. We may have some extra spots
once the schedule is worked out so everyone is welcome. Last years
preforming team will have 1st priority, alternates and injured list
next, then new members. The Mt Eden show will be the last
performance for the 2007-2008 team and a new team will be formed.
I heard some very sad news yesterday, most of us know Miss T has
been Kristen Newberry’s horse for years. Unfortunately, Miss T
recieved injuries after being caught up in a fence and after
everything that could be possibly tried was done it was determined
she would not be able to recover from her injuries and sadly the
decision had to be made to put her down. Our heart goes out to
Kristen and the Newberry’s.
